Donation to School for Visually Impaired Children "Prof. Ivan Shishmanov" - Varna.
On May 15, 2014 Presidents of RC Varna, Varna-Galatea and RC Varna-Euxinograd Milcho Bliznakov Ivan Tabakov and Lubomir Gospodinov along with Past President of RC Sofia Vitosha Ilia Iliev, delivered to the school for blind children in Varna "Prof. Dr. Ivan Shishmanov "donation of 8 specialized kits drawing TactiPad and consumables for use for two years of upper sets worth 2720 Euros.
During exciting celebration in the presence of more than 40 children who will use these special kits for blind children, the donation was delivered to the director of the school Mrs. Petkova.
Iliya Iliev from RC Sofia Vitosha witn a pathetic speech told how their club is organized and made this donation and also for the children in such a school in Sofia and how Rotarians enthusiasm was so great that he decided to expand the project to the only other such the second school in Bulgaria, this in Varna. Having connected with friends RC Varna, who then included in the project the other two clubs in the city of Varna RC Varna-Euxinograd and RC Varna Galatea, all without much speculation accepted unanimously the idea and joined in the financing and implementation of the project.
Donors in the face of Club presidents were donated with handmade and painted by the students of the school souvenirs and director Ms. Petkova, handed each club certificate for their donation. Finally one of the sets was opened for drawing and one of the students, made the first attempt to use it and expressed his admiration for the ease with which it works and how many different tasks can be performed with the help of it. Thanks were said by the longtime math teacher at the school, so all teachers expressed their gratitude and satisfactions that the School is donated with eight sets drawing TactiPad, which cover the needs of an entire class because it is not possible in time to divide the children some to work, while others just watch.
The celebration ended with a folk song that one of the students with singing talent sang in gratitude to the donors. Presidents of Rotary clubs declared themselves ready in the future to support the learning process of blind children in the school for children with NRC "Prof. Ivan Shishmanov" Varna.
Rotarians of the 4 Rotary club, leaving share that this project is an excellent example of a true finding the right communities and groups in society who most need help, and that the project is an example of cooperation between different Rotary clubs from one or more locations.
RC Varna Euxinograd and English Foundation "Bulgarian Aid" delivered and donated nearly 13 tonnes of aids for needy in Varna and Provadiya.
For third year Rotary Club Varna-Euxinograd and English Foundation "Bulgarian Aid" delivered, distributed and donated nearly 13 tons of aid to nursing homes, homes for children deprived of parental care and social facilities and kitchens, as well as medical supplies and supplies for the needs of the hospital in Varna.
Twenty pallet of food, medical equipment and clothing arrived by 40 foot container of December 18, 2013 in Varna on behalf of RC Varna-Euxinograd.
Food by almost 9 tons of weight, include various canned vegetables, soups, cereals and pasta, fruit juices, cookies, baked goods, soups and stews as all products are at least one year remaining shelf life. Medical supplies from over 420 items weighing 2.5 tons include medical clothing, blankets, towels, medical instruments and utensils, crutches, wheelchairs, special chairs for blood and many other specialized medical supplies and devices.
Foundation "Bulgarian Aid" is headed by Christine Thompson also Rotarians and President of RC Howden, UK for 2013-2014, which for the occasion arrived in Bulgaria with her husband Charles Christopher Thompson, a member of the Rotary Club to monitor the distribution the kinds of products and personally present in distribution the aid to their places of need!
The container was received and customs cleared by Rotarians from RC Varna Evksinograd and then it was made a plan of distribution, the products were unloaded and distributed by recipients with personal labor of the members of the RC Varna-Euxinograd Kalina Georgieva, Angel Safev, Georgi Petrov, Lubomir Gospodinov Valerie Penchev Plamen Panayotov and Valentin Markov.
This year, food aid was distributed in percentage terms as the work load of the different houses, aid received Foundation "Faith, hope and love" that feeds the public kitchen over 800 Social people, Association "St. Andrew" caring for 170 people, the Association "To save the woman," Day care center for children and youth with disabilities "St. Joan Zlatoust", Home for the elderly in Provadiya, Hospice Asclepii in the village Voditza and medical equipment and supplies were distributed to the Military Hospital in Varna and MBAL Saint Marina.
Christine Thompson with Rotarians from RC Varna-Euxinograd visited places and attend in rendering donation to people in need in Foundation "Faith, Hope and Love", in Social Association "St. Andrew", Military Hospital and other locations .
Distribution of aid was covered in the local media, newspaper "Narodno delo" and in the "Cherno more" as well as special coverage of Radio Varna, handing the donation to inmates of the Day care center for children and youth with disabilities "St. Joan Zlatoust" for which RC Varna-Euxinograd have been taking special care since 2011.
By giving away these nearly 13 tons of food aid and medical supplies members of RC Varna-Euxinograd have been taking special care since 2011, will meet the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays with a sense of satisfaction and fulfilled debt to the needy of the community of the city and with the belief that they really have helped these people to be able to meet these bright Christian holidays with dignity, joy and a ray of hope!

On November 5, 2013 in Varna's Art Gallery "Boris Georgiev" Rotary Club Varna-Euxinograd distributed
for sixth consecutive year, the 'Rotary Euxinograd" for outstanding high school students.
President of RC Varna-Euxinograd Lubomir Gospodinov, told journalists "we should find the right way to preserve and develop the talents of young people, through its rewards club seeks not only materially but also spiritually to encourage them for their achievements and to show them that despite the crisis, society sees and appreciates their success so with these awards, we want to encourage them to continue to develop further". Dimitar Radev shared view" that there is nothing to fear that children go to study abroad, the question is what will be their interest to work for Bulgaria"
Nominations are based on proposals made by the pedagogical councils in the elite schools by offering high school students with significant achievements in mastering scientific knowledge and practices shown in national and international competitions and Olympiads during the school year.
The awards are given in 4 categories:
- Natural mathematical and natural sciences;
- Social Sciences and Humanities;
In outstanding nominations in each category may be served 1 Grand Prix "Rotary Euxinograd" with a cash prize and three prizes of a diploma with a cash bonus.

Many of the winners for the first time as additional incentives were given vouchers for free training in English Academy-Varna and IUC.
For the first time in the history of the Students Awards "Rotary Euxinograd" was given and 1 year maintenance grant during the first year that District Governor Valentin Stoyanov handed Victor Radivchev of MG "Petar Beron" Varna.
Silvia Hristova-Director of Education in the Municipality of Varna warmly congratulated all winners and wished them more success and thanked RC Varna-Euxinograd for their perennial effort to reward and promote outstanding high school students in the city, Victor Radivchev thanked on behalf of the winners and told how imagine his future.
The sweet celebration attended by over 200 people, including excited parents, principals and teachers of the schools, and many friends of the students, rotarians from the 3 Varna Rotary club and Rotaractors and Interactors from both Rotaract and Interact clubs in the city, were present delighted with performances from some of the winners, as Georgi Yankov and Miglena Dimitrova from the National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov" sang pop and folk songs, and Peter Lyubchev from the humanitarian High School surprise guests with performance on bagpipe.
The celebration ended with a lot of kissing, group photographs, and a small cocktail party where all participants were able personally to congratulate the winners and their teachers for the work that they have taken and to their successes.
Donation of a minibus Renault Traffic by Matching Grant Project 76652 for the Home for Children with disabilities "St. Joan Zlatoust" Varna.
Rotarians always throughout the 107 year history of Rotary International were able to have unmistakably palpable pains and needs of those social groups and parths of society that can not
cope alone and actually need help to exist or even to survive in certain cases.
And Rotarians from RC Varna-Euxinograd and PK Howden England felt the extreme need and even the critical situation in which had fallen the children from the Home for children with mental and physical disabilities "St. Joan Zlatoust" Varna.
Home functions as a day center where every morning children are brought from their homes and transport to the the building of the House, where during the day they are trained, educated by educate qualified teachers, and evening are transported back to their homes. This allows parents to work during the day and earn money as breadwinners for their families and children.
And when hundreds repairs old vanminibus of the House became unusable which questioned the functioning of the House in general and when it can be not expect any help from the municipality or from any state, then with the interventions of Rotary Foundation was donated Renault Traffic Van with 17 places, imported particularly from Australia, pursuant to Matching Grant project 76652 of the Rotary Foundation, between the Rotary Club Varna-Euxinograd and the English Rotary Club Howden, with the support of the funds from the Rotary Districts 2482 Bulgaria and 1270 England.
So on June 12, 2012 with a nice party for the children of the Home for Children with mental and physical disabilities "St. Joan Zlatoust" Varna gave festive program, the Rotary Club Varna-Euxinograd in the presence of officials presented to the House on the first donation Matching Grant project implemented in Varna, Its worth $ 16,400 granted by the Rotary Foundation and another 2500 lev collected on Rotary Christmas ball in Varna in December 2011
The minibus, fully serviced and checked technically added automatic sliding door and paid all fees and insurance and covered with captions of Rotary International and RC Varna-Euxinograd and PK Howden was delivered by the President of RK Varna-Euxinograd Georgi Georgiev and representative of RK Howden Christine Dagwell to the director of the Home "St. Joan Zlatoust" Mariana Hristova.
Georgi Georgiev wished flawless operation of the minibus and said that RC "Varna Evksinograd" in the future will help with whatever is needed for the minibus of good care, upbringing and education of children in the home.
The van was solemnly consecrated by the church service and a with short ritual of Father Yasen Kirchev in the presence of the Deputy Regional Governor of Varna region Nikolai Njagolov, the President of the Municipal Council of Varna Nikolay Apostolov, representatives of the social care and other institutions in the city and county government.
