Matching Grant Project 76652 – A Renault Trafic Minibus for the "St. John Chrysostom" Home for Children and Young People with Intellectual and Physical Disabilities, Varna

On 12 June 2012, at a warm celebration where the children of the "St. John Chrysostom" Home for Children with Intellectual and Physical Disabilities in Varna performed a festive programme, the Rotary Club Varna-Euxinograd, in the presence of officials, presented the Home with a donated 17-seat Renault Trafic minibus.
The minibus was imported specially from Austria as part of Matching Grant project 76652 of The Rotary Foundation, carried out jointly by the Rotary Club Varna-Euxinograd and the English Rotary Club of Howden, with the support of the District funds of District 2482 Bulgaria and District 1270 England. It is the first Matching Grant project carried out in Varna, worth $16,400 granted by The Rotary Foundation plus another BGN 2,500 raised at the Rotary Christmas Ball in Varna in December 2011.
Fully serviced and technically inspected, fitted with an automatic sliding door, with all fees and insurance paid and bearing the lettering of Rotary International, RC Varna-Euxinograd and RC Howden, the minibus was handed over by the President of RC Varna-Euxinograd, Georgi Georgiev, and the representative of RC Howden, Christine Dagwell, to the Director of the "St. John Chrysostom" Home, Mariyana Hristova. Georgi Georgiev wished the minibus many accident-free journeys and said that RC Varna-Euxinograd will continue to help with whatever is needed so that the children of the Home are well cared for, raised and educated.
The minibus was solemnly blessed with a prayer service and a short ritual by Father Yasen Kirchev, in the presence of the Deputy Regional Governor of Varna, Nikolay Nyagolov, the Chairman of Varna Municipal Council, Nikolay Apostolov, and representatives of Social Services and other city and regional institutions.
